1830年，英国将印度南部的泰米尔人大批迁至斯裡兰卡，斯裡兰卡独立后，泰米尔人于1972年成立了勐虎组织，走上独立建国的道路，1983年与政府军开战火，隔邻印度甚至一度出兵协助政府军平乱。1990年印军撤离后，勐虎组织重新反攻并建立起「泰米尔政权」，2000年起双方开始和谈，2009年政府军击毙勐虎最高领导人后，斯裡兰卡内战才结束。A little girl is told by her parents that she is adopted. Determined to find her birth mother, she begs to be taken to Sri Lanka, where her mother works with a militant group of activists.
