保罗（本杰明·鲁茨 Benjamin Lutz 饰）的刚愎自用桀骜不驯终于让他相处多年的同性男友布拉德（John Werskey 饰）的忍耐到达了极限，在屡次的争吵之后，布拉德选择了离开保罗。而直到这时，保罗才发现，原来布拉德在自己心中的分量是如此之重，失去了他，生活便失去了意义。为了挽回布拉德，保罗决定不择一切手段，哪怕是欺骗！ 行动开始了，保罗声称自己患了癌症，希望布拉德能够回到自己的身边，没想到，这一消息没有打动布拉德，还传到了自家人的耳中。为了能够更好的照顾保罗，保罗的家人们大张旗鼓的迁入了保罗的住所，与此同时，布拉德和新男友之间的关系似乎越来越亲密。面对如此糟糕的情况，保罗能够力挽狂澜吗？Paul is a success who has gone stale with his work and his life. He has lost the love of his life but they are still co-workers. So he decides to "get" cancer so he can be popular again with Brad. When the (supposedly fake) test result comes back, he is diagnosed with an actual spot on his lungs which has "metastasized" and he is put to bed rest and on a drug regimen. But is the diagnosis real or faked or an "intervention" by his friends, co-workers and ex-lover... His family and friends do, in fact, assemble around him and hilarity ensues - with some familial bickering.
